Author Richard Pyves

Belleville Public Library is pleased to welcome author Richard Pyves for a book talk on Sat. Nov. 3 at 11:00 am. In honour of the 100th anniversary of the World War I armistice, Mr. Pyves will be discussing his book Courage, Sacrifice and Betrayal. In this book, Pyves outlines the lives of the soldiers of the 60th Battalion, one of only four Canadian WWI battalions to serve on the front lines. In his talk Mr. Pyves will be covering why and how he came to write the book, its significance, and some basic facts about the Canadian military during WWI.
