Education for residential landlords Tues Jun23 7-8pm
Virtual Educational Event for Rental Housing Providers – Tuesday June 23 from 7-8pm.
Please join this virtual event at 6:55pm so not to miss anything.
Learn about two topics important to your rental success!
Topic #1: Why You Should Rent to Applicants with Criminal Records. Many upstanding citizens have criminal records. Turning them down means missing out on potential excellent tenants and unfairly discriminating against them. Learn ways to evaluate criminal record applicants while maintaining fair, consistent rental practices. This session will cover real‑world screening approaches that align with QRLA’s commitment to ethical, effective property management.
Topic #2: Recognize and respond to signs of human trafficking in your rentals to help protect your tenants, your properties and your community. Human trafficking is a growing problem and often happens right under your nose. With it, can come other problems like drugs and brothels.
Speakers:
* Jacqueline Tasca from John Howard Society.
* Ashley Franssen-Tingley from The Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking.
* Ashmita Roy from Toronto Victim Services.
