We look forward to listening to Police Chief Murray Rodd as he speaks to the plans for the safety of our city\, and what he hopes to accomplish with his time as the Belleville Police Chief.  Belleville Police Services are also asking for your written feedback on the following questions.  Questions will be available at your table.\n\n1.  What do you need and want from the Belleville Police Service?\n\n2.  How can you support and assist the Belleville Police Service?\n\n\n\nChief Rodd has been serving as the Chief of the Belleville Police Service since September 2024. He began his policing career with the Peterborough Police Force in 1983 as a constable. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1996 and then to Staff Sergeant in 2001\, where he held roles including Platoon Commander\, Team Policing Coordinator\, and Acting Inspector. In October 2007\, he was promoted to Inspector of Operations and appointed Chief of Police on August 15\, 2008.\n\nIn addition to his police service\, Chief Rodd dedicated 22 years to the Canadian Forces Reserve\, Cadet Instructors Cadre\, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also served as the Commanding Officer of the Blackdown Army Cadet Summer Training Centre\, Canada's largest Cadet Summer Training Establishment. In this capacity he was responsible for leading 533 Commissioned Officers\, NCOs and staff and training 2\,300 Cadets. \n\nChief Rodd earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Leicester\, UK\, and is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar in Quantico\, Virginia.\n\nIn June 2011\, Chief Rodd was invested as a Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces by His Excellency\, The Right Honourable David Johnston\, Governor General of Canada. In June 2015 Chief Rodd was the recipient of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police President's Award.
